“Homestead in Winter”. 30″ x 24″ Oil on canvas, framed. $3,450
Outside Washington DC there is an apple orchard that has been turned into a Disneyland like experience for city dwellers. It gets very busy during the summer months with cart rides to the apple trees for visitors to pick apples. They have pumpkins in October, and have now added things like a gift shop, animal petting and even a snack bar. But in the winter, for those of us who live nearby, the cold hits and all the traffic and visitors stop coming and we have it to ourselves. A blanket of snow puts down a soft quiet over the landscape, and the apple branches turn this beautiful maroon against the winter blue sky which often has new snow clouds building.
